Friend to all, notable area musician, and all-around good guy Todd Burge is helping with booking at Marietta's newest venue, The Adelphia at the Galley, so naturally, when I got that call, I gave him a wicked hell yes. We're always looking to expand our territory a bit, and we hear the the the area has long been suffering from a Funk deficiency...and just as scurvy can be cured by eating a few oranges, we plan on injecting the region with 1 million cc's of raw funk power...remember, Funk not only moves, it re-moves....dig?
The Adelphia has recently hosted Southern Culture on the Skids, Patrick Sweany, and The Sean Carney band, among others. Here are some photos that I "borrowed" from the Adelphia Facebook page. What can I say. I am a heartless pirate. Looks like a beautiful venue...and it looks tall enough to break out the horn scaffold :)
Yum! Booze!
Thats a pretty big dance floor, lets fill it! (all photos by not me)
Anytime we play someplace completely new, I always have to try so much harder to get people out...know anyone who lives in the Mid-Ohio Valley or wants to travel to hear an awesome band...tell them we'll make it well worth the trip!
The band will take to the Mid-Ohio Valley in waves. On Friday, November 5th, Seth, Ian, and I will take our solo/duo talents to Parkersburg for a Blackwater Mojo/Ian B. Walters house concert hosted by the dynamic Mr. John Radcliff. It'll be a fun little adventure for sure. John hosts many house concerts, we're honored that he was able to work us into his already busy schedule (he plays with Todd Burge & the Odd Urges, Ovada, and possibly others that I don't know about.) Good food, good tunes, and good times if you're in the area. Check it out here.
The rest of the band will likely drive out Saturday, coming from the farthest corners of Randolph, Tucker and Braxton counties. (ps: Parkersburg is Rob Masten's hometown, so all manners of Masten will be at the Adelphia gig...maybe we'll get some folks out who remember Rob from his glory days as a prominent member of Hot Ice who opened for the New Kids on the Block back in the day.)
On Facebook? Invite your friends to this event! Bring your people and lets get crazy!
